12 localities from five districts disconnected from power after bad weather

Chisinau, 3 August /MOLDPRES/- A number of 12 localities from Anenii Noi, Ștefan Vodă, Orhei, Ialoveni and Leova districts were disconnected from power following yesterday's rain.

According to the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations, the intervention teams were requested yesterday evening to carry out deforestation works of the trees collapsed by strong wind gusts in localities in the districts of Anenii Noi, Nisporeni, Sângerei, Fălești, Glodeni, Drochia, Ungheni and Bălți municipality.

In Bălți, firefighters carried out three interventions to clear the fallen trees on the road. Similar works were performed by IGSU employees in the localities of Năpădeni (Ungheni district), Hâjdieni (Glodeni district), Chetrosu (Drochia district). At the same time, due to the unfavorable weather conditions, the rescuers removed fallen trees on the gas pipes at Anenii Noi, but also in Răuțel village, Fălești district.

In Biruința locality, Sângerei district, the intervention of rescuers was needed after a tree collapsed over a five-level block of flats. Firefighters were also called to the city of Vatra in Chisinau, where they removed several trees, which blocked the railway.

Also yesterday, firefighters carried out water pumping works in several households in the village of Cosnita, Dubasari district. Pumping works were also carried out in Slobozia-Dușca locality from Criuleni district.

According to the data presented by the electricity suppliers, following the heavy rains with hail and strong wind, on August 2, around 23:00, 12 localities from Anenii Noi, Ștefan Vodă, Orhei, Ialoveni and Leova districts were disconnected from electricity , and today, all localities have been reconnected.
