Over 18% of country's population vaccinated against COVID-19

Chisinau, 3 August /MOLDPRES/- 1,051,038 thousand doses of vaccine were administered in Moldova, which is 18%, without counting the vaccinated persons abroad. The data were presented today by the leadership of the Ministry of Health, Labor and Social Protection at a press conference.

So far, our country has received over one million 530 thousand doses of vaccine. Out of the total vaccines received, the stocks of Astra Zeneca were used in proportion of over 95%, Sputnik V - 95.7%, Pfizer - around 62%, Sinovac - over 80%, and Johnson & Johnson they - 65 thousand of people.

The MSMPS leadership reiterated the need to boost the vaccination process, especially after the Delta strain of the virus was confirmed in Moldova. In this context, 500 vaccination points were opened in the country.

The health authorities noted that new batches of Astra Zeneca and Pfizer will reach the country soon.
