Moldovan athlete qualified for finals at Tokyo Olympic Games

Chisinau, 4 August /MOLDPRES/- Moldovan athlete Andrian Mardare qualified for the final of the spear throwing event that will take place on August 7 at the Olympic Stadium in Tokyo.
The Moldovan athlete reached the distance of 82.70 meters, recording the tenth result as a value in the preliminary series.
At the same time, Sergei Marghiev will compete today in the final of the hammer throw event. Marghiev qualified for the final on Monday, August 2, recording the result of 75.94 m obtained in the preliminary series held on the Olympic Stadium in Tokyo.
Seven Moldovan sportswomen also perform at the Olympic Games: Anastasia Nichita (wrestling), Daniela Cociu and Maria Olărașu (kayak-canoe), Serghei Tarnovschi (kayak-canoe), Andrian Mardare (throwing the spear), Serghei Marghiev (throwing the hammer) and Lilia Fisikovici (marathon).
