Road passing through Vatra and Straseni repaired of 85%

Chisinau, 4 August /MOLDPRES/- Representatives of the State Road Administration (ASD) held a meeting with contractor on the progress of the rehabilitation works of a sector with a length of 17.6 km of the national road R1 Chisinau - Ungheni - Sculeni. The parties found that the repair of the section, which crosses the localities of Vatra and Straseni, has an execution progress of about 85%.

Currently, the contractor is carrying out construction work on the foundation layer, asphalt layer, construction of the drainage system and sidewalks.

ASD previously expressed concern about the stagnation of rehabilitation works, which were to be completed as early as 2016, and requested explanations and clarifications from the contractor. "He assured that he will receive financial support from the headquarters of the parent company in Azerbaijan, in August of this year, to overcome the created situation," says the State Road Administration.

The rehabilitation project of the R1 road sector has a value of over 23 million euros, granted to the Government of the Republic of Moldova through a loan from the funds of the European Investment Bank.
