As many as 196 new cases of COVID-19 recorded in Moldova

Chisinau, 4 August /MOLDPRES/- A number of 4,438 samples have been processed in Moldova in the last 24 hours and 196 new cases of infection with the new-type coronavirus were confirmed, of which 12 import ones. As many as 260,024 COVID-19 cases have been registered in Moldova so far.

According to data by the Health, Labour and Social Protection Ministry (MSMPS), one case is among medical employees.

As many as 401 patients confirmed with COVID-19 are hospitalized in all, of whom 61 are in extremely serious condition (14 patients are connected to assisted breathing apparatus).

In the context, 866 persons are treated at home with light and moderate forms of coronavirus and 24,791 are under supervision at home.

Another 138 people have been treated. As many as 252,421 people were treated of COVID-19 in all.

At the same time, MSMPS informs about the registration of five other deaths caused by the new coronavirus, the death toll reached 6,266.
