Five young people from Moldovan capital to be investigated

Chisinau, 15 October /MOLDPRES/- Five young people from the capital were detained by the officers of the Buiucani Police Inspectorate, being suspected of committing a robbery. They turned out to be two minors aged 15 and 16 and three aged between 18 and 21, previously tried for similar crimes.
According to the police, on September 29, around 11:15 pm, a 75-year-old man notified the police through the 112 service and asked for the help of the police, saying that he was assaulted and robbed in the Ștefan cel Mare Public Garden.
A crew of policemen went to the scene. The man informed the police that while he was sitting on a bench in the park, a group of five people approached him and, applying physical force, they stole 2 laptops of the “Asus” and “Samsung” models, after which they fled in an unknown direction. The damage caused to the man is 5,000 lei.
Following the operative measures, the five were detained and escorted to the Police Inspectorate. Following the hearings, the young people admitted their guilt. The stolen goods were returned to the owner.
The young people are under criminal investigation for robbery, and for the committed crime they risk imprisonment from 5 to 7 years.
