Thirty personalities marking 30-year-long history of Moldova awarded Order of the Republic

Chisinau, 15 October /MOLDPRES/ - President Maia Sandu today signed a decree, according to which 30 personalities of Moldova are awarded the Order of the Republic, on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the proclamation of the country’s Independence, marked this year, the presidential press service has reported.    

The distinction was awarded for contribution to the promotion of Moldova’s image in the world, for the professional success achieved, as well as for the civic spirit proved and full involvement in the society’s life. Also, the Order of the Republic awarded today is a sign of homage paid to a string of exceptional personalities who, although they passed away, left an important trace in the country’s history.       

The list of laureates includes culture people and economists, civic activists and mayors, teachers and medical employees, scientists and sportspeople. These are talents who brought the country’s fame far away in the world or worked with dedication at home, in order to save lives, educate generations and carry out original projects. And thus, through effort, tenacity and professionalism – they changed Moldova.
