Moldovan president meets group of senators from Czech Republic

Chisinau, 19 October /MOLDPRES/ - President Maia Sandu today met a delegation of the Committee for Foreign Affairs, Defence and Security of the Czech Republic’s Senate, the presidential press service has reported.
The discussion was focused on the present situation in Moldova, reforms’ process and the perspectives of the Eastern Partnership. Maia Sandu referred to the priorities of the governmental team, noting that one of the major challenges of the latter was to give again the people confidence in the state, thus prompting them to remain at home. According to the Moldovan president, this will be possible through combating corruption and edifying a state with just institutions, where the law is observed and the justice works.
As for the Eastern Partnership, the head of state said that, being one of the countries which fully benefited from this mechanism, Moldova is interested in its continuity and development. In the context, Maia Sandu thanked for the support provided by the Czech Republic to Moldova during years, as well as in the fight against Covid-19, noting that she counted on the support of the Czech partners in the long run as well. Also, President Maia Sandu thanked for the recognition by the Czech authorities of the vaccination certificates issued by Moldova.
