European Commissioner for Internal Market appreciates Moldova's efforts in transition towards e-governance

Chisinau, 27 October /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Natalia Gavrilita met European Commissioner for Internal Market Thierry Breton in Brussels today. The discussions’ agenda included a string of topical subjects for Moldova’s citizens, such as the starting of the processes needed for cutting the roaming tariffs with EU, mutual recognition of the COVID-19 digital certificates and mutual recognition of the electronic signature,’ the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.   

The PM said that, among the government’s priorities, there were the enhancement of the entrepreneurial activity, digitalization of all sectors of the national economy and increase in the cyber resilience of Moldova.  

„We everybody notice that the digitalization becomes a vital element of the public life and the economic processes; therefore, the extension of the benefits of the single digital market in Moldova is quite important. We are looking for means and instruments necessary, which are to help us fulfill the short-term goals, in the context of the digitalization. At the same time, we focus on the creation and development of solutions, products and platforms of e-governance,’’ Natalia Gavrilita said.    

During the discussion, Breton appreciated the government’s efforts in the process of digitalization of the state instruments and transition towards e-governance. The officials concluded that the advancement towards the mutual recognition of the reliable electronic services between EU and Moldova would represent an important impetus for the internal and electronic commerce.
