Moldovan physicians helping colleagues from Romania in fighting COVID-19 awarded in Iasi

Chisinau, 2 November /MOLDPRES/ - Those 22 physicians, medical assistants and para-physicians, who left for a mission to the COVID-19 hospital from Iasi in the first half of October, were awarded the Sanitary Merit order.

The distinction was handed to the physicians by the Iasi local authorities for the support provided in the fight against the new-type coronavirus.

The Iasi mayor, Mihai Chirica, thanked the medical employees from Chisinau for the assistance provided to the Romanian medical staff in the fight with the pandemic. ‘’I thank from the bottom of my heart the brothers physicians from Bessarabia!’’ Chirica said.

On 1 November, another 20 physicians, medical assistants, as well as seven para-physicians went to the modular hospital from Letcani, Iasi county, in order to provide support to medical employees of Romania infighting COVID-19.
