Moldovan central electoral authority obliges more parties to pay illegally received sums to budget

Chisinau, 2 November /MOLDPRES/ - The Central Electoral Commission (CEC) has obliged more political formations to pay the sums received contrary to the law to the state budget; the biggest of these sums is worth 100,000 lei.
At a today’s meeting, CEC found out that political formations from Moldova had accepted subsidies which failed to observe all provisions of the law as to the financing of the political parties. The central electoral authority obliged to pay to the state budget the sums received contrary to the law by: Our Party political party – the sum of 23,852 lei, Action and Solidarity Party – 100,000 lei, Party of Moldova’s Development and Consolidation – 40,000 lei, People’s Party of Moldova – 12,000 lei, Democracy at Home Party – 7,000 lei and the Party We Build Europe at Home – 90,000 lei.
The non-fulfillment of the aforementioned obligation in the term indicated will lead to the suspension of the payment of state subsidies in an amount of the sum collected by infringing the law. The suspension might be instructed starting from the immediately next month to the one when this right was suspended, i.e. in December 2021.
Also, the political parties benefiting from state budget subsidies from the state budget were warned about the need to use 20 per cent of the value of the annual allocations from the state budget, in order to promote and encourage women’s participation in the political and electoral processes and 10 per cent of the value of allocations received will be used for the promotion and encouraging of young people in the political and electoral processes.
