Moldova to sign agreement to promote exports to EU

Chisinau, 3 November /MOLDPRES/- Moldova is to sign a $ 3.8 million cooperation agreement with the International Finance Corporation (IFC), part of the World Bank group, for the project Investment Climate Reform in the Republic of Moldova (Phase II).
The Parliamentary Committee on Economy, Budget and Finance approved, in today's meeting, the report on the draft law for ratification of the Cooperation Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Moldova and the International Finance Corporation and will propose it to the plenary of the Legislature for approval.
The aim of the project is to increase the competitiveness of the private sector in the export of animal products, including poultry, eggs, milk and dairy products, to the European Union market. The project also aims to strengthen the export capacity of the horticultural sector.
Of the total value of the project, IFC will contribute $ 2.8 million. In turn, the Government of the Republic of Moldova will contribute one million dollars by financing state institutions, including payments for goods and services needed to implement the project. At the same time, the project does not provide direct contributions from the state budget.
The period of action of the agreement is until June 30, 2023.
