Joint meeting of Romanian, Moldovan governments began in Chisinau

Chisinau, 11 Feb. / MOLDPRES /- Joint meeting of governments of Moldova and Romania began in Chisinau. It will focus on € 100 million non-refundable agreement, reducing roaming charges, signing Joint Energy Memorandum on Energy Security for the two states, building border road bridge over the Prut River and action plan in justice between the Ministries of Justice of the Republic of Moldova and Romania.
"I want to transform the foundation of our relationship. I'm glad we were able to get together. Several bilateral documents will be signed today, or Romania has been a constant supporter of our citizens. We promised to build new bridges and keep our word. The good news is that we will sign a bilateral agreement, of non-reimbursable aid of 100 million euros, as well as the one for reducing roaming tariffs, which is a premiere for our country with a state from the European Union " Natalia Gavrilița said.
Also, she said “our road to the EU passes through Romania. Beyond the crisis, we will talk about the EU's European agenda, about the implementation of the Association Agreement of the Republic of Moldova with the EU, the signing of the future draft Association Agreement for the next seven years. We have a very busy schedule. We thank Romania for its help ", Natalia Gavrilița said.
Prime Minister of Romania Nicolae Ciucă said that this meeting, which takes place for the first time in Chisinau, "is an activity with a special symbolic load". "I am convinced that this will materialize in realities and facts, by signing agreements, protocols and memoranda."
"We see in Chisinau the biggest opening to Romania. In 2020, in a year of crisis, Romania provided assistance to the Republic of Moldova of over 46 million euros. Progress has been made in the environmental, water and forestry, finance, European funds, health and culture sectors. The agreements regarding the offer of 100 million euros, protocols in the field of military education, justice, memoranda in the field of education, energy security and innovation, will strengthen our collaboration relations ", Ciucă said.
This is the fifth joint meeting of the Governments of Romania and the Republic of Moldova. The first joint meeting took place on March 3, 2012, in Iasi.
On September 22, 2015, the second joint government meeting between the two states took place in Neptune. On March 23, 2017, the third meeting took place in Piatra Neamţ and on November 22, 2018, in Bucharest, the fourth joint meeting of the Governments of Romania and the Republic of Moldova took place.
