Interior ministers of Moldova, Romania sign joint declaration on cooperation in interior affairs sector

Chisinau, 11 February /MOLDPRES/ - Interior Minister of Moldova Ana Revenco and Interior Minister of Romania Lucian Nicolae Bode today signed more documents, among which also a declaration on cooperation, at the joint meeting of the Moldovan and Romanian governments.
The two ministers during discussions put emphasis on the enhancement of the degree of citizens’ security through the development of the bilateral cooperation, in the spirit of the Declaration on the establishment of the Strategic Partnership between Moldova and Romania for the European Integration of Moldova (signed in Bucharest on 27 April 2010).
The joint efforts of the two competent ministries will be reflected, on the next period, in activities meant to shorten the time of intervention in emergencies, in increasing the capacity of reaction to disasters, in reducing the cross-border organized crime, preventing corruption acts and an important number of activities meant for training staff from Moldova.
Also today, the two ministers signed the plan on cooperation in the field of professional training for 2022, which will allow training personnel of Moldova’s Interior Ministry (MAI) in Romania, in fields within the competence of the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations, General Inspectorate of Border Police and other institutions.
