Moldovan foreign affairs minister has phone conversation with Ukrainian counterpart

Chisinau, 13 February /MOLDPRES/ - Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign Affairs and European Integration Minister Nicu Popescu has had a phone conversation with his Ukrainian counterpart Dmytro Kuleba, in the context of the regional situation. Both officials expressed concerns about the growing tensions as a result of the build-up of Russian troops at the border with Ukraine, the Foreign Affairs and European Integration Ministry’s (MAEIE) press service reported.
„The mutual support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Moldova and Ukraine within our borders recognized internationally remains firm,’’ Minister Nicu Popescu said.
The Moldovan deputy PM reiterated the firm confidence of Moldova’s authorities that any violent actions and threats with the use of military force are contrary to the international law and norms.
