Chisinau, 14 February /MOLDPRES/ - The Chisinau city hall has confirmed a decrease in the number of people sick of COVID-19 in the Moldovan capital.
At a today’s online meeting of the Chisinau city hall’s services, the Chisinau general mayor, Ion Ceban, said the rate of infections with Sars-Cov-2 had decreased and the municipal hospitals closed nine sections for the treatment of these patients. ‘’Statistics data confirm the drop of the number of people sick with coronavirus; the pressure on the municipal hospitals diminished. The number of patients hospitalized in intensive therapy sections remains high,’’ the mayor noted.
According to Ceban, the people put in intensive therapy sections are patients with comorbidities and unvaccinated. ‘’I ask the health municipal institutions to make efforts for the vaccination of the residents, in order to achieve the figure needed for the collective immunity. Health experts’ data shows that 60 per cent of the Chisinau residents would be unvaccinated; 46 per cent were vaccinated in the capital and the rest – in Romania,’’ the official added.
