Moldovan education ministry says 782 pupils infected with COVID-19

Chisinau, 14 February /MOLDPRES/ - About 400 pupils from the primary schools, gymnasiums and lyceums were infected with COVID-19 last week; so, there are 782 pupils sick with Covid-19 in all. The Education and Research Ministry (MEC) announced data to this effect today.
According to the epidemiological situation from 11 February, there were 782 people tested positive for Covid-19 in the education institutions from Moldova. Also, 136 teachers and 57 auxiliary staff employees were infected with the new-type coronavirus.
On the same period, 48 cases of infection among small children were registered in the kindergartens from Moldova and 68 educators and 60 auxiliary staff employees were tested positive for COVID-19.
Presently, nine kindergartens and 121 groups, one school and 92 classes are in quarantine.
According to the quoted source, so far, the rate of vaccination of teachers from the primary schools, gymnasiums and lyceums has reached at 84.51 per cent. The highest vaccination rate is in the vocational education institutions (86.79 per cent) and the lowest one – in the pre-school education (79.46 per cent).
