Moldovan president hopes tensions in region to be managed through dialogue, diplomatic negotiations

Chisinau, 14 February /MOLDPRES/ - President Maia Sandu has conveyed a message in the context of the regional security crisis. The head of state informs that, along with the government and the parliament, she considered the scenarios of development of the crisis and assessed the risks they pose, as the priority is the life and safety of our people, the presidential press service has reported.
„The peace and stability in the region are quite important for Moldova. They allow us focusing on the settlement of the problems of the country and the citizens. Yet, on these days, we keep an eye on Ukraine. The worsening of the situation at the border of the friendly neighbour country deeply worries us,’’ President Maia Sandu said.
The head of state urged the citizens to remain united, not to let themselves to be manipulated by the propaganda which cultivates the division, not to allow the hatred to take roots in the Moldovan society, as no matter the language we speak, our political preferences, we are all Moldova’s citizens.
„I hope that the tensions in the region will be managed through dialogue and diplomatic negotiations, as we know how high the war’s price is. This is a price which no country should pay. The peace is the guarantee of the future of our region and country,’’ the Moldovan president said in her message.
