Moldovan president - Grigore Vieru was not only poet of all generations, but also high moral authority

Chisinau, 14 Feb. / MOLDPRES /- On the birthday of poet Grigore Vieru, President Maia Sandu conveyed a message on personality of the great man of culture. The head of state says that we miss Grigore Vieru a lot today, when he would have turned 87 years old, but also on any other day, because now, more than ever, we need moral landmarks in society and enlightening spirits, the presidential press service has reported.

"Grigore Vieru, whose birthday we celebrate today with the whole country, was not only a poet of all generations and of all hearts, but also a high moral authority, a guide and a role model. As a writer and as a man of culture, he felt, through every word spoken and every gesture, deeply responsible for the fate of this earth ", Maia Sandu said. 

At the same time, the head of state welcomed that starting this year, on February 14, the poet's birthday, we will also celebrate the National Reading Day. Maia Sandu mentioned that reading is essential in the formation of every human being, even from birth, is the basis for the development of human thinking and language, analytical skills and emotional intelligence, is the wealth that is available to all and that shapes us as a personality.
