Farmers in Moldova urged to fill out questionnaire on digital technologies in sector

Chisinau, 15 Feb. / MOLDPRES /- Agency for the Development and Modernization of Agriculture (ADMA) and Future Technologies Project (FTA), funded by the US Agency for International Development (USAID) and Sweden have launched a survey of agricultural entrepreneurs on digital technologies in agriculture in the Republic of Moldova. The aim of the survey is to develop a framework for the adoption of digital and advanced technologies in the value chains in our country's agriculture, and the questionnaires can be completed by 20 February.
"It takes 15-20 minutes to fill in the questionnaire. Participants are asked to answer all questions. We encourage as many answers as possible, as specific as possible, our own examples and practices. Respondents to the questionnaire may be asked to participate in a subsequent interview for specifications and clarifications ", explains the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry (MAIA).
The questionnaire will generate qualitative and quantitative data on the current situation and the needs, understanding and readiness of actors in the agricultural sectors for the implementation of new technologies and digital solutions; trends in the use of various digital technologies in Moldova as well as market penetration, the degree of interest of actors in the investment agriculture sectors; possible interventions in agricultural value chains with high potential, especially those with added commercial value and high export potential that have a clear need for digital innovation.
As a result, a visionary framework for digital transformation in agriculture and its roadmap will be developed and implemented through ADMA programs, as well as those of other responsible partners and institutions.
At the same time, in order to improve the productivity and competitiveness of digitization and sustainability in agriculture, ADMA plans to launch a new loan program, with additional technical support, mentoring and consulting services, as well as grants so that Moldovan agri-food enterprises can acquire and implement the technologies of the future through digital solutions eligible in agriculture.
According to international studies, most digital technology innovation initiatives in agriculture are aimed at sustainable practices (53.8%), waste management and food traceability (10.5%), or develop digital solutions for climate resilience and disaster prevention (9%) .
