Moldovan deputy PM has meeting with deputy foreign affairs minister of Russia

Chisinau, 15 February /MOLDPRES/ - The present situation in the Transnistrian settlement process, aspects of the Chisinau-Tiraspol dialogue, as well as problems faced by the citizens from the two banks of Dniester were among the subjects discussed at a today’s meeting between Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration Oleg Serebrian and Deputy Foreign Affairs Minister of Russia Andrey Rudenko. The Russian official is accompanied by Ambassador-at-large of Russia’s Foreign Affairs Ministry Vitaly Tryapitsin, on a working to Moldova.   

According to the Reintegration Policies Bureau, referring to Chisinau’s priorities in the process of negotiations, Deputy PM Oleg Serebrian stressed that the foremost things were: resumption and maintaining an active dynamic in all formats of talks, removing the obstacles to the free movement, ensuring permanent access to the farmlands from the Dubasari district and a good work of the Latin-script schools, reestablishing the working potential at the points of vehicles’ registration from the left bank of Dniester, promoting efficient measures of prevention and combating COVID-19, etc.   

Serebrian emphasized Chisinau’s readiness to participate in the works of the next round of negotiations in the 5+2 format and in a new Bavarian conference on the promotion of confidence building measures.

The sides reiterated the firm commitment to advance towards a peaceful and sustainable settlement of the Transnistrian file. This process should take place simultaneously with the viable settlement of the problems which concern and hit the legitimate interests of the residents from both banks of Dniester.
