As many as 1,616 new cases of COVID-19 recorded in Moldova

Chisinau, 16 February /MOLDPRES/ - A number of 10,162 tests have been processed in Moldova in the last 24 hours and 1,616 cases of infection with the new-type coronavirus were confirmed. 14 out of the new cases are import ones. Thus, 488,899 COVID-19 cases have been registered in Moldova so far.

According to data by the Health Ministry (MS),103 out of all infection cases are among medical employees (31 physicians, 37 medical assistants, 35 auxiliary staff employees).

As many as 2,074 people confirmed with COVID-19 are hospitalized in all, of whom 158 are in extremely serious condition and 23 patients are subjected to mechanical ventilation.

In the context, 17,246 persons are treated at home with light and moderate forms of coronavirus and 16,725 are under supervision at home.

Another 4,707 people have been treated. As many as 449,260 people were treated of COVID-19 in all.

At the same time, MS informs about the registration of another 27 deaths triggered by COVID-19 and 11,009 people have died of coronavirus in all.
