Chisinau, 16 February /MOLDPRES/ - Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign Affairs and European Integration Minister Nicu Popescu has participated in the first meeting of this year of the governmental commission for European integration. The event was focused on the planning of the authorities’ activities in the context of the implementation of the Moldova-European Union Association Agreement, the Foreign Affairs and European Integration Ministry’s (MAEIE) press service has reported.
At the meeting chaired by Prime Minister Natalia Gavrilita, the cabinet members approved, on principle, the draft Association Agenda Moldova – European Union for 2021-2027.
„In the next months, the Association Agenda will undergo the procedures of internal coordination of EU and will eventually be adopted officially through written procedure within the Moldova – European Union Association Council,’’ Deputy PM Nicu Popescu said.
The Agenda is meant to prioritize the implementation of elements of the Association Agreement, as well as to contribute to the development and deepening of the dialogue with the European Union on new fields of cooperation. This will allow Moldova being able to fully use the benefits provided by the European market.
„The approval of the draft Association Agenda allows us starting the process of preparing a national document of planning the implementation of the Association Agreement. In the management of this process, MAEIE will closely cooperate with the State Chancellery,’’ Minister Nicu Popescu added.
