Moldovan-Turkish inter-governmental commission for economic cooperation to hold meeting

Chisinau, 16 February /MOLDPRES/ - Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign Affairs and European Integration Minister Nicu Popescu has discussed with Ambassador of Turkey to Moldova Gürol Sökmensüer. The officials considered ways of developing the bilateral relation and boosting the commercial exchanges and investments, the Foreign Affairs and European Integration Ministry’s (MAEIE) press service has reported.
„I pointed out the need to plan, in the near time, a meeting of the joint inter-governmental commission for economic cooperation and of the joint committee on the free trade agreement between Moldova and Turkey,’’ Deputy PM Nicu Popescu said.
At the same time, in the year when Moldova and Turkey mark the 30th anniversary of the establishment of the diplomatic relations, the diplomats agreed on the necessity to advance on the organization of the second meeting of the High Level Strategic Cooperation Council.
„I accepted the invitation to participate in the Diplomacy Forum in Antalya on 11-13 March, an event which brings together diplomats, officials, experts and business people, in order to exchange ideas and tackle topical subjects on the regional and international agenda,’’ Minister Nicu Popescu also said.
