Moldovan PM receives new Ambassador of United States to Moldova

Chisinau, 16 February /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Natalia Gavrilita today had a meeting with new Ambassador of the United States to Moldova Kent Logsdon. The PM congratulated the U.S. diplomat on his appointment to office and wished him success in the exercising of the mandate, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.    

In the context of the marking of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of the diplomatic relations between Moldova and USA, the two officials expressed interest in the promotion of the consolidated strategic dialogue, focused on democracy and good governance, combating corruption, energy and cyber security, development and economic growth.

Natalia Gavrilita thanked the American official for the strong support of the USA, expressed in a recent declaration of the US-EU Energy Council on the access of the partners from Eastern Europe to reliable, accessible and safe energy sources. At the same time, the prime minister expressed gratitude for the financial and development assistance provided to Moldova during years through USAID and other governmental agencies of the United States.  

Ambassador Kent D. Logsdon reiterated the support of the United States in the promotion of the democratic processes in Moldova. He reaffirmed the USA’s commitments to deepen the mutually advantageous bilateral relations.
