Cross-border project of Technical Universities of Iași, Moldova launched

Chisinau, 17 Feb. / MOLDPRES /- The project entitled Winet @ UNI - Joint Cross-Border Network Infrastructure of Technical Universities in Iasi and the Republic of Moldova was launched yesterday in Chisinau, during an event organized at the Technical University of Moldova (UTM).

The project, funded under the Joint Operational Program Romania - Moldova 2014-2020, provides for the development of cross-border transport infrastructure and modern digital communications infrastructure within the Technical University Gheorghe Asachi in Iasi and the Technical University of Moldova in Chisinau.

At the same time, it encourages scientific cooperation, extending cultural values, and contributes to improving relations between the two countries by developing long-term perspectives in science and research.

The project budget for the Technical University of Moldova is about one million euros, which will provide students, faculty and researchers from the two universities with state-of-the-art high-quality WiFi and IP streaming systems.
