Moldovan hydrologists warn about increase in water level in Dniester river

Chisinau, 17 February /MOLDPRES/ - The State Hydrometeorological Service (SHS) has informed about a hydrological warning of increase in the water level in the Dniester river for 17-19 February.
According to SHS hydrologists, the forecast is in connection with the increase in the discharge of water from the Dnestrovsk Reservoir (Dniester river) up to 370 metres/second.
„The hydrological centre forecasts for 17-19 February the increase in the level of water by 0.5-1.3 metres on the segment between the Soroca city and Camenca town against the level from 17 February. The water will flow within the limits of the minor river bed,’’ the Hydrological Service said.
In the context, the authorities warn ‘’the local public administration, economic agents, to which the reservoirs are subordinated, to pay attention to the state of the dams, bridges and ways of water’s evacuation.’’
