Moldovan deputy PM pays working visit to Cocieri plateau on left bank of Dniester

Chisinau, 17 February /MOLDPRES/ - Deputy Prime Minister Oleg Serebrian, along with representatives of the Reintegration Policies Bureau, today paid a working visit to the Cocieri plateau, where they met representatives of the local public administration, heads of institutions, local councilors, as well as economic agents.  

According to the Reintegration Policies Bureau, at the meeting with the mayors of the settlements Cocieri, Raisa Spinovschi, and Molovata Noua, Oleg Gazea, the sides tackled pressing and topical problems, as well as issues dealing with the access to the farmlands placed beyond the Rabnita-Tiraspol highway, free movement of residents on the plateau, as well as in the perimeter of the Security Zone, difficulties faced by entrepreneurs, local mayors and residents.  

In the context, Deputy PM Oleg Serebrian said the aforementioned problems would be approached in the current formats of negotiations, as well as in coordination with the national competent authorities, in order to identify potential ways of overcoming and settling them. In particular, special attention will be paid to the removing of artificial impediments to the free movement, given that more problems are connected to these obstacles, created and unilaterally maintained by Tiraspol.

Other problems of major importance set forth regard the endowment with the equipment needed of the system of aqueduct and sewerage, in order to collect and distribute water in the settlement, ensure the good work of education institutions, social assistance institutions, the free work of economic agents, etc.   

The deputy prime minister for reintegration visited the Centre of Family Physicians from Cocieri, which benefited from assistance for the modernization of services provided, through the programme on activities for Moldova’s reintegration. During discussions with the Centre’s employees, the sides found out the existence of a deficit of medical staff, who would cover the needs of the residents from the nearby settlements, including the ones served from the Transnistrian region.  

At the same time, a fact-collection visit was paid to the arts school from Cocieri, in the festivities hall and more other locations placed at the Community Centre, which benefited from assistance from budgetary allocations  for the country’s reintegration.  

The subjects discussed on site were taken over for monitoring and decision-makers are to identify ways of their viable settlement.
