Moldovan electoral body organized forum dedicated to involving young people in electoral processes

Chisinau, 18 Feb. / MOLDPRES /- The Central Electoral Commission and the Continuing Electoral Training Center organized a forum on 15-17 February on the involvement of young people in electoral processes.

The nominated center announced that together with the central electoral authority they held, in online format, the Youth Debate Forum in the electoral field, entitled Inclusion of young people in electoral processes: How to attract new young people to parties and how to involve them in elections, which was attended by about 60 young men and women from 11 political parties.

Doina Bordeianu, director of the Continuing Electoral Training Center said that the purpose of the event was to motivate young people to get involved in political and electoral activity. "It was an activity that contributed to the consolidation of civic and political culture, with an emphasis on communication, negotiation and collaboration that led to the enrichment of knowledge in the electoral field," Bordeianu said.

In interactive sessions, trainers with experience in the field of training, communication and promotion of rights addressed topics such as: electoral rights and procedures, specifics of inclusion of vulnerable groups, attitude and position of young people towards electoral processes, efficiency of using different communication tools, techniques and political technologies to motivate young people, communication based on electoral marketing, etc.

The event is part of the actions carried out within the project Strengthening democracy in Moldova through inclusive and transparent elections, implemented by UNDP Moldova.
