New meeting of political representatives for Transnistrian settlement held in Tiraspol

Chisinau, 18 February /MOLDPRES/ - A working meeting of the political representatives in the process of negotiations on the Transnistrian settlement on behalf of Chisinau and Tiraspol, Oleg Serebrian and Vitaly Ignatyev, took place at the headquarters of the OSCE Mission in Tiraspol today. Attending the event were representatives of the participants in the 5+2 format of negotiations, the Reintegration Policies Bureau has reported.
The chief negotiators expressed willingness to reactivate all current dialogue platforms (sectoral working groups, 1+1, 5+2), in order to promote the constructive interaction, look for technical possibilities of solving the pressing problems and re-launch the work of the competent experts from the two banks of Dniester.
The discussions were focused on aspects from the motor transport sector: the need to reestablish the full working potential of the points of registration of transport means from the left bank of Dniester, carrying out the provisions of the protocol decision from 24 April 2018; depoliticizing the situation dealing with the arrest of a batch of registration plates with symbols non-approved under law and complying with the decisions adopted by the competent law-enforcement bodies; determining the ways of keeping record of the ambulances specially endowed for the assisted medical transportation of patients with medical emergencies.
The Tiraspol special representative showed disinterested in the development of the earlier discussed initiative on the opening of a trolley bus line on the route Bender-Varnita-Northern District with the financial support of foreign donors. Ignatyev noted that such a project can be carried out at the expense of the resources provided for to this end locally.
The Chisinau political representative tackled the subject on the bridge from Gura Bacului and the need to fully implement the earlier agreed upon commitments, ensuring the access of relatives and qualified medical employees to the citizens detained in prisons from the Transnistrian region, overcoming the difficulties and eventual unilateral measures able to limit the access of owners/people who work the farmlands from the Dubasari district, placed beyond the Camenca-Tiraspol highway.
As for the aspects regarding the passing of various goods imported by economic agents from the Transnistrian region through the customs checkpoints from Moldova, the sides emphasized that the concerned procedures are to be carried out with the observance of the requirements of the normative framework in force and after the getting of the import authorizations issued by the national competent authorities.
The dialogue between the political representatives will be continued at a new working meeting, due to take place at the headquarters of the OSCE Mission from Chisinau at the end of the next week.
