Moldovan deputy premier had phone conversation with foreign minister of Israel

Chisinau, 19 Feb. / MOLDPRES /- In the context of a proactive diplomacy, Deputy Prime Minister Nicu Popescu held a telephone conversation with Yair Lapid, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the State of Israel, the MAEIE press service has reported.
Officials exchanged views on the current state of bilateral relations, including actions planned for 2022 in the context of marking the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations. Ministers expressed a common interest in strengthening political dialogue and the dimension of economic diplomacy: attracting Israeli investment and increasing exports.
"I also mentioned the good multilateral cooperation in providing mutual support, as well as in everything that involves the commemoration of the Holocaust. We proposed that our teams work on the size of organizing a Moldovan-Israeli tourist route in order to provide the opportunity for Israeli citizens to connect more easily with the Jewish cultural heritage of the Republic of Moldova ", said Popescu.
The heads of the two diplomats also discussed the security situation in the region, the Moldovan minister noting that our position is clear: the Republic of Moldova advocates an environment in which states do not solve their problems by force or military threats, but through dialogue, peaceful methods and diplomatic solutions.
"I gladly accepted the invitation of the Minister to pay a visit to the State of Israel, in order to further dynamize and strengthen the friendly relations for the benefit of our citizens", concluded Nicu Popescu.
