Current issues in Moldova discussed by president at bilateral meetings in Munich

Chisinau, Feb. 20 / MOLDPRES /- On the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference, which ends today, President Maia Sandu held several bilateral meetings. The official met with political leaders, representatives of security organizations and business figures, the presidential press service has reported.
Maia Sandu spoke with Olaf Scholz, German Chancellor; Kiril Petkov, new Prime Minister of Bulgaria; Jurgen Stock, Secretary General of INTERPOL; Johannes Hahn, European Commissioner for Budget and Administration; Mircea Geoana, Deputy Secretary General of NATO; Nils Schmid, foreign policy spokesman for the SPD in the Bundestag; representatives of the Foundation for an Open Society; Jared Cohen, CEO of Google Jigsaw; Christoph Heusgen, future President of the Munich Conference.
The officials exchanged views on recent developments in the region and the role of the international community in addressing these challenges, as well as on pressing security issues in Moldova. Also, current issues related to the daily concerns of our citizens and the internal challenges of the Republic of Moldova were addressed.
The head of state mentioned, in the context, inflation and high prices which, along with the energy crisis, continue to affect the well-being of the people, as well as the risks of developments in the region on the security of our state. Another topic addressed at the Munich meetings is the investment opportunities offered by the Republic of Moldova and how development partners could help us increase the quality of life of our citizens and advance our European aspirations.
