941 pupils in Moldova infected with COVID-19

Chisinau, 21 February / MOLDPRES /- About five hundred primary, secondary and high school pupils were infected with COVID-19 last week, the total number now stands at 941. The figures were announced today by the Ministry of Education and Research (MEC).
According to the epidemiological situation on February 18, in the educational institutions of the Republic of Moldova the number of students tested positive with COVID-19 was 941 people. 111 teachers and 38 auxiliary staff were also infected with the new coronavirus.
During the same period, 54 cases of infection among the little ones were registered in the kindergartens in the country, and 63 educators and 21 auxiliary employees presented positive tests to COVID-19.
Currently, there are two schools in quarantine, 420 classes and 82 kindergarten groups.
According to the quoted source, until now, the vaccination rate of primary, secondary and high school teachers is 84.51%. The highest immunization rate is in technical vocational education (86.82%), and the lowest - in preschool education (76.46%).
