Over 3,800 drivers fined for infringement of traffice rules in Moldova in last week-end

Chisinau, 21 February /MOLDPRES/ - Patrol officers carried out actions of detecting drivers who infringe the traffic rules all over Moldova in the last week-end. As many as 3,827 drivers were sanctioned following these actions.

According to the police, on the last days-off, law enforcers fined 873 drivers for exceeding the speed limit, 160 drivers for failure to give legal priority to pedestrians.

On the same period, 28 drivers were found driving drunk and removed from driving by patrol officers.

In the context, the leadership of the General Police Inspectorate informs that it would boost the activities of patrol and would start a campaign meant to protect pedestrians. Thus, Interior Ministry employees will be detached to crosswalks nearby schools and at agglomerated intersections.
