Chisinau local authorities ready to receive refugees

Chisinau, Feb. 24 / MOLDPRES /- Local authorities in Chisinau have indicated their readiness to receive refugees in case of need.

Mayor Ion Ceban informed that the municipality has drawn up a plan for receiving refugees. "Accommodation, food points and social and medical assistance are being prepared. We have a plan to mobilize staff and volunteers to intervene and help potential people who will have refugee status," he said.

President of the Republic of Moldova Maia Sandu in a press briefing today announced that the Moldovan authorities are ready to receive tens of thousands of refugees from Ukraine and requested openness from local public authorities in this regard.

Ukrainian border authorities announced this morning that Ukraine's border had been attacked by Russian troops along its border with Russia and Belarus.
