Moldovan government to ask parliament declare state of emergency

Chisinau, Feb. 24 / MOLDPRES /- The government will ask the parliament to declare a state of emergency after the events in Ukraine. The announcement was made today by the head of state Maia Sandu, after the meeting of the Supreme Security Council.
The President of the Republic of Moldova condemned the actions of Russia and asked the Moldovan citizens who are on the territory of Ukraine to return home.
She said several flights to Ukraine had landed at Chisinau airport today and said authorities would take care of them. At the same time, the head of state said that Chisinau is ready to receive several tens of thousands of refugees, and state institutions are on alert.
