Speaker had meeting with Moldovan diaspora in Baku

Chisinau, Feb. 24 / MOLDPRES /- On the sidelines of his official visit to Baku, Speaker Igor Grosu held a meeting with representatives of the Moldovan diaspora in the Republic of Azerbaijan on Wednesday evening, the parliament's communication and public relations department has reported.

The speaker shared his impressions of his official visit to Baku with his compatriots, noting the openness enjoyed by the parliamentary delegation from the Azerbaijani leadership.

At the same time, the plans for future cooperation with the Republic of Azerbaijan in areas such as trade, culture, infrastructure were discussed.

The issue of the direct flight to Baku-Chisinau, which is of interest to both the citizens of the Republic of Moldova settled in Azerbaijan and the Azerbaijani community in our country, was also addressed. The speaker announced that this topic was discussed with Prime Minister of Azerbaijan Ali Asadov, and he expressed the hope that things will evolve in the near future.

The President of the Parliament appreciated the fact that many representatives of the diaspora actively promote our local products, including Moldovan wines on the Azerbaijani market, and there is great potential in this area to be used.

During the meeting with the representatives of the Moldovan diaspora, Igor Grosu greeted Daniel Holostenco, who has been living in Baku with his family for eight years, and managed to become a boxing champion in the junior category.

On 21-24 February, Grosu paid an official visit to the Republic of Azerbaijan at the invitation of his Azerbaijani counterpart, Sahiba Gafarova.
