Moldovan foreign affairs minister has phone conversation with Romanian counterpart

Chisinau, 24 February /MOLDPRES/ - Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign Affairs and European Integration Minister has had a phone conversation with his Romanian counterpart Bogdan Aurescu.
According to the Foreign Affairs and European Integration Ministry’s (MAEIE) press service, at the discussion, the officials reiterated the support for the independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine and called on the settlement of any conflicts by peaceful means. At the same time, the ministers stressed the imperativeness of the observance of the basic principles of the international law.
Taking into account that one of the effects of the crisis from Ukraine is the generation of flows of refugees to the neighbour countries, Deputy PM Nicu Popescu called on Romania, as well as the European Union member states to support Moldova in the efforts of reception and accommodation of refugees from Ukraine on the territory of Moldova.
„We stay in permanent touch with Minister Aurescu for exchanges of information and coordinating the activities of counteracting the dangers related to the conflict from Ukraine,’’ Minister Nicu Popescu said.
