Moldovan head of state discusses with United Nations Resident Coordinator in Chisinau

Chisinau, 2 March /MOLDPRES/ - President Maia Sandu today had a meeting with Resident Coordinator of the United Nations in Chisinau Simon Springett. The discussion was occasioned by the marking of the 30 years since Moldova has become a UN member state on 2 March 1992, the presidential press service has reported.
The head of state thanked for the cooperation and support provided to Moldova during time in diverse sectors by the UNO agencies. In the context of the latest developments in the region, President Maia Sandu emphasized the first consignment of the humanitarian assistance for the refugees from Ukraine, provided by the United Nations, brought in Chisinau today.
The officials spoke out for the strengthening of the joint efforts in overcoming the crisis triggered by the security situation in the region. The UN resident coordinator gave assurances that Moldova would further benefit from the support needed to this end.
