Service of issuance of driver's licences to be modernized in Moldova

Chisinau, 2 March /MOLDPRES/ - The road traffic regulation and the norms as to the medical examination of drivers and candidates for getting the driver’s licences has been changed. A decision to this effect was approved at a cabinet meeting today, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.
The amendments suggested have the goal to modernize the public services, through the digitization of the service, The issuance of the driver’s licence, which will ensure the improvement of the quality, the cutting of the cost and the duration of providing the public services to Moldova’s citizens.
At the same time, the number of acts needed for the processing of the right to drive vehicles will be reduced, through excluding the psycho-physiological test and the issuance of the medical certificate of drivers and of candidates for getting the right to drive vehicles by the family physician, who will access medical data of the person in the information system of primary medical assistance.
Also, decision-makers will ensure the exchange of data between the institutions involved in the process of documentation of the people with right to drive vehicles, through the information systems held according to the area of competence.
The draft was worked out according to the government’s goals as to the modernization of the public services and providing them to Moldova’s citizens at the proper level.
