Over 9 million lei collected in budget after investigating several tax offenses

Chisinau, March 4 / MOLDPRES /- Since January 2021, the Prosecutor's Office for Combating Organized Crime and Special Cases (PCCOCS) has jointly investigated 258 criminal cases with the State Tax Service, and in the same period, more than 9 million lei were collected in the state budget.

According to the PCCOCS, the money was collected as a result of the investigation and criminal investigation activity, and as precautionary measures, at the request of the PCCOCS prosecutors, seizures amounting to almost six million lei were applied.

Since last year, under the leadership of prosecutors, the State Fiscal Service has been investigating criminal cases targeting a wide range of crimes. These relate to tax evasion, intentional or fictitious insolvency; as well as embezzlement, alienation in cases not permitted by law, concealment of pledged, frozen, leased, seized or confiscated property; false in accounting documents.
