Moldova's airspace remains closed during state of emergency

Chisinau, March 4 / MOLDPRES /- Civil Aviation Authority announced today that the airspace of the Republic of Moldova remains closed during the state of emergency, in order to ensure the safety and security of civil aviation.
The institution stated that it is in close connection with the air operators as well as with the foreign aviation authorities.
AAC, together with the Ministry of Defense, is constantly monitoring the situation and the possibility of reopening the airspace as soon as possible, in this regard a last meeting of the authorities took place on March 3. All aspects presented by the representatives of the institutions that participated in the meeting will be examined and a decision will be taken later.
At the same time, the Civil Aeronautical Authority announces that in accordance with the provisions of Provision no. 5 of March 3 of the Commission for Exceptional Situations of the Republic of Moldova, may authorize the use of airspace in the following cases: repositioning flights of civil aircraft of domestic and foreign air operators; commercial air freight and mail flights of domestic and foreign air operators; humanitarian, repatriation and medical emergency flights; and for other justified cases, limited to the state of emergency.
