306 pupils in Moldova infected with COVID-19 - education ministry says

Chisinau, March 7 / MOLDPRES /- Over 150 high school pupils became infected with COVID-19 last week, the total number now stands at 306. The figures were announced today by the Ministry of Education and Research (MEC).
According to the epidemiological situation on March 4, in the educational institutions of the Republic of Moldova the number of students tested positive with COVID-19 was 306 people. 61 teachers and nine auxiliary staff were also infected with the new coronavirus.
Ten cases of infection among the little ones were recorded in kindergartens in the country during the same period, and nine educators and ten auxiliary staff tested positive for COVID-19.
According to the quoted source, until now, the vaccination rate of teachers in primary, secondary and high school is 84.55%. The highest immunization rate is in technical vocational education (86.99%), and the lowest - in preschool education (76.47%).
Currently, students in the country are on a short spring break and will return to class on Wednesday, March 9th.
