ADR South, Causeni authorities signed contract on modernization of treatment plant

Chisinau, March 9 / MOLDPRES /- Management of the South Regional Development Agency (ADR) and the authorities of the city and district of Causeni recently signed the financing contract within the project Modernization of the wastewater treatment plant in Causeni (stage II) and construction of sewerage system in Causenii Vechi.

The financing contract has a total value of about 73.46 million lei, of which 58.26 million (79.31%) will be allocated, during the next two years, from the sources of the National Fund for Regional Development (FNDR) , and the other expenses, amounting to about 15.2 million lei, will be covered from the budget of Causeni district, which is the beneficiary of the project, as well as from the city of Causeni, which participates as a partner in this project.

The general objective of the investment is to ensure a clean and safe environment for the inhabitants of Causeni and those of 27 rural localities of the district, by reducing the negative impact of untreated water on the environment and human health.

"I am firmly convinced that such projects, such as the one in Causeni, are in support of the citizens and are aimed at improving the quality of life of the people in the Drought-affected Southern Development Region, making it better and easier, helping and to have sustainable access to quality public services and ensuring their fundamental right to a healthy and safe environment ", mentioned Ion Pînzari, the interim director of ADR Sud.

The project and construction of the sewerage system in Causenii Vechi was included in the Single Program Document 2022-2024. Subsequently, the National Development Coordination Council Regional approved the allocation of 6.5 million lei for the works to be carried out in 2022, within the nominated project.
