Government of Japan provides support to Moldova's General Inespectorate for Emergency Situations through improving fire prevention equipment

Chisinau, 9 March /MOLDPRES/ - The cabinet of ministers today approved the ratification of the Agreement on Grant between the governments of Moldova and Japan on initiating a project titled, Improvement of fires prevention equipment, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.
The project will be implemented with the support of Japan’s government, which will provide a grant worth 1.55 billion Japanese yen (equivalent to almost 240 million lei) to the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations (IGSU) of the Interior Ministry for the purchasing of 19 special intervention vehicles.
The vehicles are to be placed in six settlements of Moldova. At the same time, rescuers and firemen will be trained by Japanese experts on how to ensure the maintenance of the technology and equipment.
The new special intervention vehicles will help reduce the time of response to the citizens’ demands in the settlements of deployment and in the districts served.
