Moldovan capital's authorities demand simplification of distributing assistance to refugees

Chisinau, 9 March /MOLDPRES/ - The Chisinau city hall has asked the central authorities to open points for distribution of material assistance for refugees.    

The city hall believes that the distribution of assistance, through the opening of points of distribution and assistance, dedicated to refugees at the precincts of the biggest centres for accommodation of refugees from the capital, would reduce the pressure of the management of the refugees’ problems.

According to the Chisinau general mayor, Ion Ceban, the local public authorities do not have simplified procedures for the reception of material assistance. ‘’According to the statistics from the centre for selection of refugees from Moldexpo, there are more than 13,200 refugees in Chisinau,’’ Ceban said.      

The distribution of goods and food products at those 44 centres of placement of refugees from Chisinau is carried out through decision-makers of the city hall and teams of volunteers.
