Moldovan electoral body canceled new local elections

Chisinau, March 10 / MOLDPRES /- The Central Electoral Commission has canceled several new local elections.
In today's meeting, the central electoral authority took note of Law no. 41 of February 24 regarding the establishment of the state of emergency on the territory of the Republic of Moldova and decided to postpone the holding of several new local elections that were to take place during this period.
According to the CEC decision, the date of the new local elections in these localities will be set after the lifting of the state of emergency.
Following the conflict in Ukraine, on February 24, the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova voted to establish a state of emergency in the country for a period of 60 days.
