Travel agencies to have until September to refund travelers' payments

Chisinau, March 10 / MOLDPRES /- Deadline for refunding payments for tourism services contracted until March 17, 2020 will be extended until September 30 this year. A bill to this effect was approved today in first reading by MPs.

Following the adoption of the law, travel agencies and local operators will have extra time to overcome the financial problems caused by the crisis and to meet their obligations to customers.

Data from the National Association of Travel Agencies of Moldova show that the debts of travel agencies and national tour operators are estimated at about 1.1 million euros to tourists in the country. These are the debts of more than 300 local businesses, mainly in the small business sector, which have accumulated more than 4,000 passengers.
