Chisinau, 11 March /MOLDPRES/ - There are 131,221 refugees from Ukraine in Moldova. Government’s Secretary General Dumitru Udrea made statements to this effect at a news conference today.
According to Udrea, due to the decision by the foreign partners to directly take over the refugees from the border crossing points, the number of Ukrainians who remain in Moldova is decreasing.
„On 8-11 March, 189 routes of mini-buses were made to carry refugees. Almost 6,000 people were transferred. Trains transported more than 2,800 people to Romania. A number of 883 refugees were transferred by plane. Another three flights are planned today. On 12 and 13 March, another four flights will be organized,’’ Dumitru Udrea noted.
He also said that 93 placement centres for refugees were opened in Moldova, of which 39 ones in Chisinau and over 3,000 places are available.
The official informed that the process of setting road signs meant for managing the movement of refugees to the points of crossing the border with Romania would be finished today.
