More alternatives of transport for Ukrainian refugees willing to go to EU countries available in Moldova

Chisinau, 11 March /MOLDPRES/ - The Ukrainian refugees willing to go to Romania and other European destinations have more alternatives, including road, train and plane routes, made available by Moldova’s government. The head of the Single Crisis Management Centre, Dumitru Udrea, today made statements to this effect at a news conference, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.
In this respect, on 8-11 March 2022, 189 road routes were made, of which eight today till 12:00. Almost 6,000 people were transferred by buses and mini-buses on the aforementioned period in all.
On the last days, 2,844 refugees from Ukraine arrived in Romania from Moldova by train and by air and 883 people who fled Ukraine reached such countries as Israel, Bulgaria and Turkey in the last four days. Three flights are still planned today – to Frankfurt, Istanbul and Tel Aviv. Also, on 12 and 13 March, another four flights will be organized to Germany, Turkey, Spain and Poland, Dumitru Udrea noted.
The refugees who entered Moldova from Ukraine and are set to migrate to another country have possibility to be registered by filling in the online form, through accessing the official webpage of the Civil Aviation Authority - www.caa.md/repatriere. The requests are processed in a database, which will provide information in real time about the likelihood of making the evacuation flight in the shortest period.
At this point, there are 131,221 refugees from Ukraine in Moldova, a figure lower against the one announced on 10 March. Ninety three authorized placement centres for refugees work in Moldova, where 3,811 places are still available at present. Also, today, decision-makers will finish the procedure of setting 20 road signs on national roads, which direct the refugees from Ukraine to Moldovan-Romanian border crossing points.
Dumitru Udrea urged the Ukrainian refugees and Moldovan citizens to use the information resource www.dopomoga.gov.md, a platform opened by the government, which synchronizes all useful information on the crisis of refugees in Moldova. Also, www.dopomoga.gov.md provides information on the most active groups on social networks, which can help the refugees from Ukraine, as well as the Moldovan citizens who want to help them.
